Recreational Diving, Wednesday pm's

The Diving & Marine Centre will run recreational dive sessions. These will normally run on a Wednesday afternoon. The dates and times will be advertised on this page and at the Nancy Astor Sports Centre.

The dives sites are many and varied all subject to weather and group ability, if the sea state is such that we can't take the boats out, we have an Inland site which we can use.

What do you need for a Recreation dive?

A minimum qualification of BSAC Ocean Diver (or equivalent qualification from any other agency).

An in-date recognised sport diver medical (which we can arrange for you using a local G.P)

All diving equipment is provided including wetsuit, mask and fins and dive kit. You're welcome to use your own equipment as long as you have all the relevent test certificates for any equipment you bring ie: drysuit, regulators, BCD.

Our next session will be advertised here.

How do you sign up?

  • This will be on a first come first served basis.

  • We will only run with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 16.

  • You will have to ring Reception on 01752 584660 and speak to Katie, Arlene or Alison only. Payment can be made by card or cheque only, we do not accept cash.  This must be done by Monday 1300hrs before the advertised dive date. We will need a contact phone number when you book.

  • You will need to be at the dive brief by 1300hrs on the date of the dive.  If you are late or you do not turn up there will be no refund.  We will not carry over monies to the next session.  Exceptions will be made for sickness where a doctor’s note is produced and an emergency corroborated by your module leader.  Any queries should be discussed with the Diving Officer who has the final say in these matters.

How much does this all cost?

For all the dive equipment, boats and staff all you have to pay is £15.00.

All prices correct Sept 2009
