Amy Heger, Luxembourg
Second year Marine Biology student
"I've always wanted to study marine biology and I decided to go to England in order to improve my English. The teaching allows me to learn the scientific terms in English, which might be useful for further research work. I chose to come to Plymouth because, I got told that it had a good reputation for marine biology studies, and the teaching staff were excellent. I was very pleased to know that there was the possibility to take part in HSE Professional Scuba diving and I joined the course. At first it was hard work to get everything right but through diving I gained a lot of knowledge about the underwater world and it helped me in the identification of organisms. I'm in my second year now (of diving) and the course is going to be over by the end of this year, however I enjoy diving so much that I'll join the University's scuba club next year, and may have the chance to dive in the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth."
